Turkey Trot Season Is Here: Trot the Manor 5k and Be Grateful 5k

Two exhilarating races unfolded in New Jersey, showcasing the strength, speed, and spirit of the local running community. The 12th Annual Trot the Manor 5k in Chatham, NJ, and the Be Grateful 5k at the Saddle River Bike Path in Rochelle Park, NJ, both took place under clear, sunny skies with temperatures in the brisk 40s, creating a perfect backdrop for some outstanding competition.

In Chatham, the Trot the Manor 5k proved to be a nail-biter in the Men's Division. Charlie Henne emerged as the champion, claiming victory by the slimmest of margins, edging out Brady Byrne by less than a second. The battle for supremacy added an extra layer of excitement to an already thrilling event. On the women's side in Chatham, Caroline Himstreet dominated the course, securing a decisive win over second-place finisher, Allison Herr. Himstreet's speed and determination showcased the high caliber of athleticism present in the Women's Division.


The action then shifted to Rochelle Park for the Be Grateful 5k, where Evan White took the spotlight in the Men's Division. White's performance highlighted his exceptional running skills and commitment to the sport, earning him a well-deserved victory. In the Women's Division at the Be Grateful 5k, Caroline Barnes proved to be a force to be reckoned with, claiming the top spot with a combination of speed and grace. Her win added a touch of inspiration to an event that already carried the spirit of gratitude and community.


Both races not only celebrated the physical prowess of the participants but also emphasized the sense of community and camaraderie within the New Jersey running scene. Runners embraced the opportunity to express gratitude through their strides, creating a dynamic and uplifting atmosphere against the scenic backdrops of Chatham and Rochelle Park.
