Fall Racing Season is here! 12th Annual Barnegat Stop Drop and Run 5k/10k Race Report
Even though it is still technically summer, the fall racing season is upon us! On August 31st, 2024, the 12th Annual Barnegat Stop Drop and Run 5k/10k took place under picture-perfect conditions at the Barnegat Municipal Dock. With over 250 enthusiastic registrants, the event showcased a strong community spirit while supporting a noble cause—the Barnegat Fire Department.
The beautiful weather was a highlight of the day, providing a fantastic backdrop for the race. In the 5k, Lucas Harrer (19:24) and Summer Sprague (23:31) emerged victorious in the men's and women's divisions, respectively, showcasing exceptional speed and endurance. Meanwhile, in the 10k race, Nick Nocco (37:13) stormed to a commanding victory in the men's division. Robyn Jones claimed first place on the women's category, stopping the clock in 49:26.
This year's event was not only a celebration of athleticism but also a meaningful contribution to the Barnegat Fire Department, reflecting the community's commitment to supporting its local heroes.
