Beautiful Weather for the 8th Annual Hero 5k
The 8th Annual Hero 5k on November 5th at Bergen Community College sounds like a great event. The weather conditions were favorable for running, with temperatures around 50 degrees at the 8:30 am start time. The race featured a course that looped around the campus and part of the nearby golf course, providing a scenic and challenging route for the participants.
In the men's division, Elson Smajlaj emerged as the winner with an impressive time of 17:53, breaking the 18-minute barrier. Justin Napier was a close second, stopping the clock at 18:00 flat, making it a competitive race in the men's category. The women's division was won by Su Jin Lee, who completed the 5k course in 21:30. Her performance was notable and secured her the top spot in the women's competition.
Additionally, there was a kid's dash, which was a fun event for young participants. It took place ion the grounds of the college and provided an opportunity for kids to join in on the running fun. Overall,
the 8th Annual Hero 5k was a successful and enjoyable event for all the participants, with strong performances in both the men's and women's categories.
